REEL Rangers Adventure: Volatile Moon Sci-Fi E-Book Explores Lunar Mining Environmental Disaster

CLEVELAND - Nov. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- REEL Rangers, LLC announces the launch of REEL Rangers Adventures, a science-fiction e-book series created to promote renewable energy awareness and ecology education, especially among youth and young adults. The premier e-book in this series, REEL Rangers Adventure: Volatile Moon, tells the story of the REEL Rangers first mission to the moon. In 2062, Megalith Lunar Mining set up operations to extract precious volatiles at the lunar South Pole. COO Revelin North struggled to maximize production, regardless of the risks to the lunar environment. But, the REEL Rangers were sent to the moon to investigate, led by Deputy Chief Tremain "Tree" Mays. Tree's reputation for challenging authority rivaled his renown for preventing environmental disasters by corporations on Earth.

Joining Tree on this mission to the Moon were fellow REEL Rangers, Luis Ramirez, a nuclear physicist, and Sophie Lavoie, an aerospace engineer. The diverse trio endeavored to reveal the mystery of how mining operations threatened the lunar environment. Risking their lives in order to stop the hazardous mining operations, the REEL Rangers acted with a daring urgency. A dire confrontation between Tree and North was inevitable.

The following excerpt is from the prologue to Volatile Moon:

"During the mid-21st century, the consequences of global warming began to wreak havoc throughout Earth. Super storms became the norm, eroding shorelines and giving way to rising seas. Icebergs drifted into shipping lanes in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. In the temperate zones, historically fertile farmlands transformed into deserts. The greatest rain forests withered. Hunger and malnutrition plagued nearly half of the planets seven billion souls.

Nevertheless, hope to restore the ecosystems persevered in the form of a growing global force, the Renewable Elemental Energy Law Rangers. The year 2062 marked the 50th anniversary of the REEL Rangers. Founded in 2012, the REEL Rangers were established in order to advance and support renewable energy initiatives and programs that help to develop, sustain and safeguard the five renewable energy sources: Biomass, Solar, Geothermal, Wind, and Water. During decades of extraordinary expansion, the REEL Rangers developed into a supra-governmental organization (SGO), recognized by every sovereign entity on Earth."

Darrell T. Boyd, author, envisions establishing the REEL Rangers Institute with the goal of providing a comprehensive curriculum based on environmental science. Beginning at the secondary school level, the Institute will cultivate students to excel in environmental science and renewable energy technology. The Institute will encourage each student to develop strength of mind, body, and character to the highest levels. 2.     Formulate methodologies for reducing carbon footprints;
3.     Provide measurable outcomes for sustainability projects;
4.     Promote ecology awareness and environmental justice;
5.     Challenge industries to proactively reduce their carbon footprints.
