Incentive Marketing Association Welcomes New Executive Director

Nov. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- – Illinois native Carla R. DeFlorio, CAE, was recently chosen to head up the Incentive Marketing Association (http://www.incentivemarketing.org/) succeeding Karen Renk, CAE, who is retiring after 15 years as Executive Director for the national incentive industry group.

DeFlorio, who has an MBA in International Business, comes to IMA after six years as CEO of the Certification of Disability Management Specialists Commission in Schaumburg, IL where she was responsible for board support, operational management, profit/loss accountability, facility management and human resources. While heading the specialty certification body, she helped launch a new brand identity, created its Industry Leadership Summit and developed the first core curriculum in disability management/health and productivity.

Her experience includes positions as the Director of Constituent Services for the Academy of General Dentistry and Manager of Chapter Services for the American Society of Safety Engineers. Before entering the realm of association management, DeFlorio worked in the banking industry for Continental Bank, LaSalle Bank and Banco di Roma. Fluent in Italian, she is a member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland and the American Society of Association Executives. She has published articles in CareManagement and given presentations to: the American Society of Association Executives, American Society of Safety Engineers, Association Forum of Chicagoland and the Safety, Health and Environmental Inter-Society Forum.

Reflecting on the challenges of her new position, DeFlorio says, “I look forward to working with the incentive professionals across the country who are responsible for developing the case studies and standards that have helped grow recognition and incentives to a $76.9 billion industry.”
