RenewData to Present at Paraben’s Forensic Innovations Conference

Multi-Hour Sessions over Three Days Combines Instruction with a Hands-On Lab

Nov. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- AUSTIN, Texas  – RenewData, a full-service eDiscovery provider, today announced that three of its security and forensics experts will present on “USB Drive Investigation and Tracking in a Multi-OS Environment” at the 2013 PFIC (http://www.pfic-conference.com/). The conference, which launched in 2008 and is held in Snowbird, Utah, welcomes attendees from law enforcement, law firms, corporate entities and government agencies to discuss the legal aspects of forensics and eDiscovery.

Brian Brown, Vice President of Technology & Security, Louis S. Scharringhausen, EnCE, Senior Forensics Investigator, and Danny Aga, Forensics Manager, will lead sessions on November 13, 14 and 15 that combine instructional and technical insights into USB investigations along with hands-on labs for attendees. Each session begins at 1:30 p.m. MST and ends at 5 p.m. MST.

USB drives are an increasingly common way that data is stored for use and transferred between computers. The evidence of a USB drive being attached to a computer ‒ and what files were on it ‒ has proven invaluable to many investigations. The RenewData session will examine computer system artifacts that determine what USB drives have been attached to a computer, when they were attached and what files were accessed from them. This investigative process has proven invaluable in many intellectual property theft cases to both establish and disprove a USB drive-based theft.

While the class is geared toward educating forensic investigators for applications in their cases, the presentation also speaks to RenewData’s commitment to bringing the best technology solutions and expertise to its clients’ eDiscovery projects.
