Under Thirty Professionals Who Grew Up In Poverty Are Making A Difference In Their Community!

HOUSTON - Nov. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Cherrie On Top Youth Center is hosting their highly anticipated 3rd annual Christmas event called Winter Wonderland Get Fit Christmas on Saturday December 21, 2013.

Cherrie On Top is a youth organization that services inner-city youth in the Acres Home area of Houston Texas.  Their after school program focuses on putting youth who live in poverty and broken homes on the path of personal success by teaching  leadership skills, diverse life skills, and entrepreneurship. The 27 year old founder and CEO of Cherrie On Top grew up in the Acres Home community, which gives her personal insight on how to impact youth with difficult backgrounds.  Sharea explains, “My dad was heavily into drugs and was in and out of jail all my life, so I know what these kids are going through and exactly how they can make it out!”

Every Christmas, Cherrie On Top  Board of  Directors coordinate their Christmas events to give Houston a glimpse of what they do in their programs. Their motto is always to give with a purpose! They will be transforming the entire grounds of Lincoln Park Apartments into a winter festive, fitness wonderland!  They are inviting everyone from the Houston area to be a part of this free event by either participating, volunteering, donating, bringing a gift, or all of the above!

Event Details:
Winter Wonderland Get Fit Christmas event will be located at 790 W. Little York Houston Texas 77091 at Lincoln Park Apartments (Multipurpose center) on December 21, 2013 from 9:00am- 2:00pm. There will be a karate performance, 3 point basketball shoot out, fitness obstacle course, Zumba, a fitness walk, and so much more! There will also be a special guest that will help pass out  over 500 donated Christmas gifts. Everyone who signs up to volunteer will get a discounted admission to the Holiday after party on December 22, 2013.
