PRLog -- Amar singha is so promising & talented artist of India. After achieving the international award, He is now going to depict a unique series of painting, named- "RAAG-MALA". When I'm asking to Mr.Singha, about his new series, he described in details, about his subject of painting. It is so interesting and unique.
He said,- " There are many rhythms in Indian classical music. As Indian, we know them in their Indian name,-"RAAG"
. In India, there are six Raags, and thirty six Raginis. According to the concept of Hindu scriptures, Ragini is wife of Raag. Actually Ragini is a sub-rhythm, of basic rhythm. Authors of the Hindu scriptures wear describe the Raags & Raginis as a human. They also specify the time of singing of a specific Raag. Like Sree-Raag, the specific time of singing of this Raag is 3pm to 6pm. Every Raag creates a special fillings, which is perfectly matched with the specific time and season. The Sree-Raag is used at the starting of cold season. Hindu mythology described these Raags as a human. According to the description of Sree-Raag, he is a handsome young man, who meets with his first Ragini's, in a flower garden, for collecting flowers. He always like to wear a flower chain in his neck. He joking sweetly with his first wife. He has six wifes (Raginis).The name of his first wife is Ragini - "MALASREE". Every Raag's has six Riginis, and they have separate name. Hindu mythology believes that all Raags and Raginis are created by almighty creator. So there is nothing any smell of sex. Their love is always platonic"
At the historical Mughal period of India, many miniature artists ware depicted the paintings of these Raags and Raginis, by the order of Emperor Akbar. These unique jewels are lost forever from India. Very few pieces are hidden in some once's personal collection, and some of stored in British Museum. Amar Singha studied deeply about the oldest concept of Indian classical music. Then he decided to depict again these Raags and Raginis painting, and recover this loss of India
