After Years Of Controversy Groundbreaking Film “The Upper Footage” Announces Online Distribution

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Controversial feature film “The Upper Footage” is partnering with Online Theatrical for a 3-week limited run of online midnight screenings beginning November 21, 2013. The film’s shotgun release is fitting as it has been plagued with legal issues for years. During this time, the film has received considerable big studio interest and garnered a cult following through grassroots marketing after appearing in media outlets such as Entertainment Tonight, The Daily News and Radar Online.

Blending reality with fiction, the film’s characters and events have been reported on by the media for years as fact, creating everything from a Hollywood drug scandal to a nationwide search for Blake Pennington, the film’s leading character. Along the way the production has made enemies with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and fought against those that want to keep the film from being seen.

Showcasing the dark side of wealth and affluence, the film is an edited version of recovered footage that documents a young girl’s night with a group of socialites that ends with her death and subsequent cover-up. The victim’s face is pixilated throughout the film.

“The Upper Footage” premiered to a limited run of midnight screenings in NYC at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema earlier this year only to be received by protestors and a screening shutdown. The film opened the following night to a successful run and critical acclaim.

Similar to a live pay-per-view event, Online Theatrical will screen “The Upper Footage” only at midnight in every US time zone.
