PennDOT Approves Shaner Industries' Metal Foundations

Nov. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Shaner Industries, a Pittsburgh-based company that specializes in the design, engineering and installation of metal foundations, is proud to announce that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has approved the use of its metal foundations as an alternative foundation to drilled concrete caissons or spread footings for overhead sign, cantilever and center-mount structures.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation states that FHWA approval has been secured for Shaner Industries’ metal foundations, and that the metal foundations meet both AASHTO and Design Manual, Part 4 design criteria. Design/Material/Construction specifications are specified on PennDOT Drawing #13-602-BDTD dated October 31, 2013.
