By: JACA Architects Designed by JACA and constructed by BOND Brothers, this three-story, 30,000-square- The building being constructed will be located on the footprint of Beth Israel Deaconess Needham’s former administration building, which was ceremoniously demolished in April 2013. In addition to the building, a new one-level parking deck is being built where the parking will continue to be free for all patients and visitors. The building will provide three new gardens as well as provide improvements to an existing garden on site. The gardens will provide views out for patients, allowing for an enhanced patient experience. On October 3, 2013, gatherers from JACA, BOND and Beth Israel joined together for the “Topping-Off Ceremony” on the site of the Western Suburban Cancer Center. During this ceremony, the final beam from the construction process was signed by those who participated in the progression, and was lifted to meet the rest of the structure. There stood an American Flag to show unity, and a growing pine tree to ignite an everlasting growth from now on at the Beth Israel Deaconess Needham location. ”The JACA team is thrilled to be working on a premiere hospital which provides cancer care,” offered Anthony Cavallaro, president of JACA Architects. “BIDMC has been a client of JACA Architects for about a decade. Having done much work with Beth Israel, there is a level of trust that has been built and JACA Architects will ensure the new building supports the high standards of care that Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital provides to its patients,” he continued.
