Nov. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- The social services organization, which annually serves more than 800 children in its 11-county footprint, is looking for gifts for infants through teens.  CCWM wants to ensure that all children it serves will have presents to unwrap on Christmas morning.

Toys can be dropped off the week of Dec. 9 at CCWM locations at 40 Jefferson Ave. SE in downtown Grand Rapids and at 1095 Third St. in downtown Muskegon.  Gifts will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

CCWM has been holding its annual toy drive for 15+ years and is particularly looking for:

·       Games

·       Puzzles

·       Action figures

·       Dolls and dollhouses

·       Building blocks and sets

·       Learning toys

·       Stuffed animals

·       Pretend play

·       Gift cards for older teens

Gifts will only be distributed to children who are enrolled in Catholic Charities West Michigan programs at the beginning of December.  CCWM works with children through its programs that include foster care, family strengthening, counseling and others.

“Christmas is a season of joy, love and hope, when families celebrate together,” said CCWM President and CEO Terry Walsh. “Yet many families do not have the resources to provide gifts to their children. To ensure that every child served by our agency has a joyful Christmas, we offer assistance by collecting and distributing gifts. “

Last year, CCWM provided Christmas presents for more than 300 clients and anticipates the need will be even greater this year.
