By: IJIS Institute The National Symposium, which was formerly known as the ‘Industry Briefing’, has been renamed to be more inclusive of its new associates who represent over 230 government agencies, non-profit organizations, and institutions of higher education. The Symposium, the only annual conference that focuses on information sharing for the justice, public safety, and homeland security communities, will cast a spotlight on safeguarding national standards this year, as well. The tracks for this year’s Symposium sessions are: Cyber Threats and Vulnerabilities; Slated to present are: Denise O’Donnell, Director, Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice; Kshemendra Paul, Program Manager, Information Sharing Environment, Office of the Director of National Intelligence; Scheduled sessions include panel sessions on recent IJIS Institute task force initiatives for Procurement Innovation and Emergency Communications. Other sessions will include a Federal CIO Panel, an update from the Bureau of Justice on their 2014 priorities, FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Division Future Initiatives, and sessions on their N-DEx and Next Generation programs.
