The hob’art gallery proudly announces the opening of the Juried Exhibition “Before and After”.  Curated by Alberte Bernier and Simin Vaswani, the exhibition will open on November 1st at hob’art co-operative gallery, 720 Monroe Street, E208, Hoboken, NJ.  The artists will present artwork created before joining hob’art and artwork created after joining hob’art in various mediums.  “Before and After” will be open to the public From Friday November 1st to Sunday November 24th, 2013, and a reception to meet the artists will be held on Saturday November 9, 6-8pm.  On Sunday November 17, at 3:30pm, the artists will talk about their artwork and welcome questions from visitors.  Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 1-5pm, and by appointment.  The artists thank the Monroe Center and hob’art co-operative gallery for their support in this exhibition.

The aim of this exhibition is to reflect on how hob’art members have evolved as artists since they started their collaboration with the gallery.  The curators believe that art in any form is a medium of evolution and artists evolve through the process of creating art.  They hope that superimposing past and present will enable the artists to re-examine their journey in the art world and to see how their collective strength can propel innovation.  hob’art gallery congratulates the participating artists Alberte Bernier, Ann Kinney, Carla Cubit, Donna Doherty, Don Sichler, France Garrido, Ibou Ndoye, Janet Kolstein, Jean-Paul Picard, Liz Cohen, Meredeth Turshen, Miriam Untoria, Roslyn Rose, Simin Vaswani, Starr Tucker-Ortega for their artistic inspiration.
