PITTSBURGH - Nov. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Horror Realm Presents Troma Fest

Includes new release Return to Nuke ‘Em High

Pittsburgh, PA – November 5, 2013 – Fans of Troma Entertainment’s b-movies are in for a treat – a special screening program of three Troma favorites is planned for November 16 at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont.  The event is presented by Horror Realm, which produces Pittsburgh’s semi-annual modern horror convention and other horror themed entertainment and charity events.

Troma Entertainment is the oldest continually operating fully independent movie studio in the world.  Since 1974, Troma has produced, acquired and distributed more than one thousand feature films from all regions of the globe and in all genres.  Best known for THE TOXIC AVENGER, Troma has helped bring to the world the best and brightest talents in entertainment, ranging from master Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki to American humorists Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

Films selected for this special screening event are:

5 PM - Mother’s Day, the 1980 independent horror classic which redefines the term “family values”
7 PM - Class of Nuke ‘Em High, the 1986 timeless classic of readin’, writin’ and radiation
9 PM – Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Vol. 1, a new release and sequel to Class of Nuke ‘Em High.  Directed by Lloyd Kaufman, Return is a hilarious, thoughtful sci-fi “Event Film” with themes ripped straight from today’s headlines: the contamination and degradation of the world’s food supply, rampant bullying, and LGBTQ love triumphing over prejudice and violence.  Volume 2 of the Return “event” will be released in 2014 to mark Troma’s 40th anniversary.

Tickets are $15 for all three films (in advance or at the door) or $7 per film (door only).  Advance tickets are available at http://www.showclix.com/event/TromaFest.

The Hollywood Theater is located at 1449 Potomac Avenue in Dormont.  Ample free parking is available at metered on-street spaces or parking lots.  The theater is located less than two blocks from the Potomac Avenue light rail transit station.

Horror Realm’s next convention will be the 2014 Spring Break Massacre, which will take place at Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South.  Information on guests and events can be found at www.horrorrealmcon.com.
