FORT MYERS, Fla. - Nov. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Samira K. Beckwith, president and CEO of Hope HealthCare Services, is a featured guest on “Hospice: Something More,” premiering Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. on RLTV, the only cable network and online destination for Generation 50+. Beckwith joins host and former CNN anchor Frank Sesno – who was inspired by his own mother’s experience with hospice – and other recognized experts for the one-hour special program.

The show, produced in partnership with the Hospice Foundation of America, tackles the important topic of end-of-life care and introduces viewers to hospice patients and their caretakers, as well as the professionals who care for them.

“I am pleased to be a part of a national effort to help empower individuals across the country,” Beckwith said. “The program does an excellent job of providing information about how individuals and their families can best cope and achieve quality of life as they fulfill life’s journey.”

“Hospice: Something More” coincides with National Hospice Month in November, designed to raise awareness of hospice and palliative care. “Every day at Hope, we strive to engage our community and share information about the extensive programs and services available to our families and neighbors,” Beckwith said. “National Hospice Month shines an even brighter light on the ways in which Hope serves those in our care and their loved ones. It’s also a time to celebrate the outstanding health care professionals and volunteers who make it possible.”

Other experts appearing with Beckwith include Terry Melvin, M.D., chief medical officer of Hospice of Chattanooga; Kenneth J. Doka, Ph.D., senior consultant for the Hospice Foundation of America, and Rabbi Gary S. Fink, vice president of spiritual care and volunteer services for Montgomery Hospice in Maryland.

“Participating in the RLTV program with these experts was a true honor,” said Beckwith. “We all have a commitment to improving quality of life for individuals in hospice programs, and it all begins with education to empower good choices.”
