Who is Toriano Sanzone and why should we care?

Mr. Sanzone and I met in 2004 at Pet Industry conference in Chicago; he was providing information to consumers, vendors and pet professionals about a research project he was undertaking which was focused on training “difficult breeds” such as Pitt Bulls. Mr. Sanzone had a captive audience of over one hundred pet advocates that were unaware that some breeds (such as a Pit Bull) could be an affectionate family pet, as trustworthy as a Golden Retriever. He continued his educational sessions informing us about his unique style of dog training that produces amazing results.

I was with this “promise” that I became a client and long-time colleague. I have been the privileged pet parent seven Scottish Terriers; which is historically not the most social of breeds. My two year old Scottie, Isabella Amelia Rose, fit this unsociable profile perfectly. Isabella was introduced to several training interventions that were unsuccessful; one trainer actually expelled my precious Isabella from his class!

Although reluctant to try another “training method” I agreed to enroll Isabella in a three week board and train program with Toriano; I wanted Isabella to enjoy the benefits of socializing with other dogs as well as humans. The results were astounding; not only had Isabella become sociable with other dogs, she seemed happier AND calmer. I learned from Toriano that when I was afraid to bring Isabella around other dogs or people assuming there would be a problem, Isabella was somehow reading my fearful energy and showing aggression. After completing Torino’s training program, Isabella and I enrolled in additional classes to reinforce her wonderful new behavior and to also “re-train” me on becoming a better pet parent.  Mr. Toriano is committed to the well-being of the canine kingdom. I have referred him to countless clients and friends and they have all been thrilled with the changes they have seen in their precious pets. Toriano is not simply interested in the business of dog training; he has extended his skills and gifts to reach out to our returning Iraq War Veterans and created a life-changing program, Pets for Vets. As a Gold Star Mother, I am appreciative beyond words, to the benefits of this program for our Soldiers, their families and the shelter dogs whose lives have been saved to help a returning Soldier readjust to civilian life.
