Simi YMCA Cycling Club Hits the Road November 17

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Nov. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Simi Valley, Calif.—The Simi Valley Family YMCA’s Cycling Club will host a ride on Sunday, November 17 beginning at 8:00 a.m. The ride will begin and end at the Simi Y (3200 Cochran St.). Community members are welcome to participate.

         “The YMCA’s cycling club is for everyone who loves to get out and ride bicycles for exercise and fun,” says Diane Sanderson, the Simi Y’s membership director. “Riders need a helmet, a bicycle in good working condition and possess some bicycling experience.” The bike route will depend on the size of the group and experience level.

         Participating riders need to arrive at the Y by 7:45 a.m. They must be 16 years or older, and if under age 18, be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

About the Simi Valley Family YMCA

YMCA programs were run in Simi Valley by the Conejo YMCA in the 1970’s.  As the popularity and demand for Y services grew, the Simi Valley Y was formed as a separate branch of the association in 1984.  Early programs were held at schools, churches, parks and rented space consisting of childcare, day camp, Indian Guides and various youth activity classes.
