Sonorous Entertainment Releases New Mighty Clouds of Joy Compilation Album on November 5, 2013

TORONTO - Nov. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- The Mighty Clouds of Joy are the latest addition to Sonorous Entertainment Inc.'s Harvest Gospel Album Collection with the November 5, 2013 release of “Harvest Collection: The Mighty Clouds of Joy.” Between 1959 and 1960 the legendary group, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, were forming at Jefferson High School in Los Angeles. Dubbed “The Temptations of Gospel”, they would go on to gain international fame, delivering traditional gospel music for more than 40 years. Remaining true to the sound of traditional gospel, they broke with tradition in other ways, from their stylish pompadours, colorful suits of peach, green and lavender, as well as choreography performed during their shows. They were also one of the first quartets to add a drum and bass guitar to their lineup. With lead singer Joe Ligon's signature “growl” and their adaptability, they also found work within the secular music world, performing with the likes of such performers as the Rolling Stones, James Brown and Paul Simon, but all the while never compromising their message. Their devotion earned them three Grammy Awards, and, in 1999, their spot in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
