London Business School leaders named top thinkers

Two revered London Business School academics have been named among the top thinkers in India as part of a prestigious management award.

Nov. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Nirmalya Kumar, Professor of Marketing at the School, and Rajesh Chandy, Professor of Marketing and Academic Director at the School's Deloitte Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, were both named in Thinkers50 India, a major ranking of management thinkers.

Professor Kumar, regarded as one of the world's leading thinkers on strategy and marketing, was awarded the Thinkers50 India Global Village Award.

Professor Chandy, who is also the Tony and Maureen Wheeler Chair in Entrepreneurship at the School, was named among the top 50. He has won numerous honours and awards for his research in marketing strategy, international business and emerging markets.

Thinkers50 India is a joint initiative between the Institute for Competitiveness, India and the Thinkers50 project.

Dr Shashi Tharoor, the Indian Minister of State for Human Resource Development, presented India's top thinkers with their awards at a special event in Gurgaon, Haryana, praising their contribution to enhancing thought leadership across India and beyond.

"To create a thriving and sustainable societal ecosystem we need people who have the potential to change the world for the better," he said.

The list was based on the votes of peers and corporate leaders.
