Evan Guthrie Law Reads Books At Community Law Week Reading In Charleston, SC

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Nov. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina helped with Community Law Week reading event with other lawyers at Sanders Clyde Elementary in Charleston, SC on Thursday May, 2^nd 2013. Mr. Guthrie and other Charleston, SC area lawyers read books to first grade students at the school to help promote literacy and the important of reading and reduce the cycle of illiteracy among South Carolina’s children and adults, particularly in those communities that are underserved or disadvantaged. The event was through the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division and the University of South Carolina’s Cocky Reading Express. The mascot of the University of South Carolina, Cocky, was on hand to greet students and to get them excited about the power of books and reading. Community Law Week is designed to promote the legal profession through service to the community with events like the visit to the school.

Mr. Guthrie enjoyed his visit to the school and the chance to give back by reading to the first graders. This was the second time that Mr. Guthrie was able to participate in a Young Lawyers Division event at Sanders Clyde after helping with a backpack and school supply drive in 2011. Attorney Guthrie enjoys being able to contribute to Charleston, SC area schools and help enhance the image of lawyers and the legal profession in the public. Mr. Guthrie looks forward to taking part in future Community Law Week events in the future.
