DadsOnGo.Com Provides Solutions for Single Dads on a Budget

Burlington, VT -Frustration and isolation with the challenges being a single father to two young children led Steven Maestas, a Burlington, Vermont resident, to create and launch DadsonGo.com in October 2013, a resource dedicated to helping single fathers by providing low cost to free solutions, education, activities, and engagement.

“I needed it myself,” Maestas says.  “There are many challenges I faced being a single father, and I had nowhere to turn.  I felt that as a ‘Disney dad’ (a father who doesn’t have primary physical custody of his child), my kids and I were not engaging the way we should.”

Maestas is not alone.  According to SavvyDaddy.com, numerous websites exist for mothers, but websites exclusively for fathers are few.   Dads On the Go will offer social interaction, education, and experts to support single fathers in being the best they can be; nurturing, responsible decision makers, and good role models who have fun with their kids while providing clear boundaries.

Tim Parrow, owner of Pine Computers in South Burlington, agrees.  “There are many challenges in owning a business and having my kids only part-time.  I’m grateful for a Vermont-based resource just for dads like me and I’m looking forward to learning from other fathers who deal with the same issues.”

Dads On the Go is committed to creating a community consisting of single dads who want to make more of the time they spend with their children. A portion of the company’s profits is donated to The Albert & Vivian Puzey Foundation.  This helps children in third world countries access drinkable water with sustainable low cost solutions while providing economic growth through job creation.
