November Is National Model Railroad Month

Nov. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Chattanooga, TN, 2013 – November is National Model Railroad Month! Join the fun and explore the world of model railroading.

Model railroading has its roots deep into American culture. Starting with toy trains in the late 19th century and continuing with some of today’s cutting edge technology, model railroading has something for everyone. From woodworking to electrical and scenic artwork to model building, people of all ages enjoy the Hobby Of Empires.®

Model Railroad month started in 1971 and has continued to grow ever since. A hobby that anyone can obtain from school teachers to rock and roll celebrities the likes of Rod Stewart, Roger Daltrey and Phil Collins, from legends of the past as Walt Disney, Frank Sinatra and Mel Torme, the hobby allows oneself to loose themselves in a world that they alone design and build.

Throughout November the National Model Railroad Association will be sponsoring events and shows all across America. In certain markets they will be launching a new program called “Build A Memory”®. A project that takes the model railroad novice through the stages of building your own model railroad. “EduTraiment”® is another program that is being launched throughout the model railroading community to better foster the educational aspects of the NMRA®
