DETROIT - Nov. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Mobile health (mHealth) is emerging as a significant growth opportunity for healthcare-focused companies seeking to capitalize on machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless technologies, and for communities focused on identifying new engines for economic growth. To describe those opportunities, Michigan’s healthcare and mobile/wireless community members attending the INNO-VENTION 2013 conference on November 7th at the Troy Marriott will hear from a variety of Michigan-based and International experts that will cover a range of topics exploring the convergence of healthcare and mobile/wireless technologies. Attendees will also be able to experience first-hand the convenience that mobile technology provides, courtesy of one of Michigan’s leading mobile development firms.

The Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) has played a key role in aiding INNO-VENTION’s focus on mHealth at this year’s event. The trade association was instrumental in securing Qualcomm Life Vice-president and General Manager, Rick Valencia to keynote the event. MTAM is also capitalizing on their mHealth Advisory Council and the group’s direct relationship with HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) to assemble an expert panel to discuss ‘mHealth 101: Clearing the Fog on the mHealth Landscape’. The panel, moderated by Kevin Lasser, CEO, JEMS Technology and Chairman, MTAM mHealth Advisory Council features:

-  Brian Balow, Partner, Dickinson-Wright
-  Jonathan Rosenthal, Manager-Central US, Nuclear Medicine at GE Healthcare
-  David Solomon, Managing Partner, International Caregiver Network
-  David Collins, Senior Director – mHIMSS Initiative, HIMSS
-  Ramie Phillips, CEO, Phillips Consulting and CTO, JEMS Technology

Additionally, MTAM member Mousetrap Mobile is providing the On-Site Conference App for event attendees. Conference participants will be able to access the app via text (Text MMS to 57780), QR code, or by visiting the app stores, and will be able to take advantage of such features as:

-  Conference agenda
-  Speaker bios
-  Sponsor information
-  Schedule changes
-  Event alerts

Those unable to attend the event in-person will be able to use the App to view the event live-stream as well.

“We are proud to be supporting Medical Main Street and the medical industry with our mobile technology at this great event,” said Gregory Nasto, CEO of Mousetrap Group, LLC (Mousetrap Mobile). “Showcasing our mobile applications at INNO-VENTION 2013 is a fantastic opportunity for us as we have recently been honored by Oakland County as an Emerging Sector Company.”

MTAM’s Executive Director, Linda Daichendt states, “When the INNO-VENTION 2013 organizers asked for our assistance in identifying a world-class keynote on mHealth, and assembling a panel that could make mHealth understandable to a diverse audience, it was a responsibility we took very seriously because we know that Michigan has a limited window to grab the national spotlight in the mHealth sector. We wanted to do everything we could to ensure that this event provided a way for Michigan firms to receive the knowledge, ability and tools to make that happen. We were also thrilled to find that one of our most respected member firms, Mousetrap Mobile, had been asked to create the mobile app for the event.”

Those interested in attending the conference still have time to register at http://MedicalMainStreet.org .
