Elev|8 Ganon Baker Basketball Academy Team Selected as Recipient of Prestigious Nike Sponsorship

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Nov. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- The Elev|8 Ganon Baker Basketball Academy team, which launched its inaugural season in October, has been chosen to receive a prestigious sponsorship from Nike, one of the world’s top suppliers of athletic shoes and equipment.

Along with receiving several thousand dollars’ worth of shoes, uniforms, backpacks and other equipment, the Nike sponsorship also recognizes the Elevate Sports Institute as having one of the top high-school basketball programs in the nation.

“This is a major opportunity for all of us in the Elev|8 basketball program,” said Ganon Baker, who serves as head pro-development basketball trainer at the Elev|8 Ganon Baker Basketball Academy based in Delray Beach, Florida. “We’re grateful to Nike for choosing us as one of the elite high school teams in the United States.”

The Elev|8 Ganon Baker Basketball Academy team is comprised of 32 student athletes from around the world who are immersed in a residential program designed to improve athletic and academic skills.

“Our focus is on excellence on and off the court – in the classroom and in the community,” says Cody Toppert, director of basketball operations at the Elev|8 Sports Institute.

Those qualities, Toppert says, are also highly valued by Nike.

“When people see the Nike swoosh, they think quality,” he said. “Being selected by Nike for this sponsorship puts us in with a very small group of prestigious and well-respected high school teams.”

The Elev|8 Sports Institute, also home to well-respected baseball and lacrosse programs that draw students internationally, has earned recognition from Nike and other supporters for its ability to produce college-bound student athletes. Last year 100 percent of the graduating students were accepted into college and seniors received more than $580,000 in scholarships.

“Nike recognizes that Elev|8 has a training formula that works,” Baker said. “They believe in our results and our future goals.”

Baker, a Nike Skills Development Trainer who has worked with a number of NBA stars including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Amar’e Studemire, is well-known by Nike as an industry leader. He is also a motivational speaker at schools and churches worldwide who focuses on five concepts: intensity, consistency, persistence, faith and love.

“Our players and coaches are excited by the challenges this makes possible,” Baker said.
