FREDERICK, Md. - Nov. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Hailed as one of Maryland’s finest wineries, Detour Vineyards and Winery, welcomes back one of their most popular musical artists, Randy “Windtalker” Motz, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

Come celebrate Native American Heritage Month with delicious, award-winning wines as "Windtalker" performs his distinctive style of contemporary Native American-style flute music which he describes as "Native SoundScapes." The blending of flute with lush orchestration and Native percussion, weaves a musical tapestry that creates a warm and soothing ambiance guaranteed to make for a very memorable Sunday afternoon.

Against a backdrop of his wife’s dramatic photos of iconic cultural landmarks and mystical landscapes of the Southwest, the breathtaking beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, the majestic vistas of Alaska, and the incomparable beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains, "Windtalker's" beautiful and creative compositions serve as a captivating soundtrack, taking the audience on a soothing, sometimes playful, and always entertaining journey through the grandeur of these varied landscapes. And as a special treat, “Windtalker” will also be showing awe-inspiring photos from his and his wife’s recent two-month adventure hiking through the beauty of Scotland and Wales.

Beth Tamminga, proprietor of Detour Vineyard and Winery says, "Listening to Randy's music makes me wish I was out west, enjoying a glass of wine relaxing to some “Windtalker” music. His music is soothing and enjoyable for the whole family".

Audiences throughout Maryland and Virginia acclaim “Windtalker’s” show as mesmerizing, breathtaking, moving, hauntingly beautiful, profound, soothing, entertaining, educational, heartfelt, captivating, enchanting, vibrant, relaxing, exotic, and a performance that must be seen and heard.

"Windtalker" will be performing compositions from his CDs, "Native SoundScapes," and the recently-released, "Canyon Whispers," as well as some jazz, blues, and classic rock songs that are sure to get your feet tapping. Come hear songs like "Purple Rain," "Unchain My Heart," and "Nights in White Satin," as only "Windtalker" can perform them.

For years, "Windtalker" has been bringing this special brand of music to festivals, state and national parks, coffee houses, wineries, senior living facilities, schools, churches, private parties and other intimate venues. He was also the guest performer for a moonlight tour held by the National Park Service at New Mexico's Pueblo Bonito ruins at Chaco Canyon National Historical Park. Two of his songs will be featured on the soundtrack of the independent film, “Killing Cavendish,” to be released late in 2013 and songs from his latest CD, “Canyon Whispers,” can be heard on numerous internet radio stations. He now brings his wonderful show back to Detour Vineyard and Winery.

A portion of the proceeds from this concert will be donated to “Futures for Children,” a highly-respected charity that provides educational and leadership opportunities for Native American children on reservations in the Southwest.

Says “Windtalker,” “For years I have been searching for a way to put my passion for Native American people into action in a meaningful and enduring way. I am humbled and honored by this opportunity to support “Futures for Children’s” mission and vision by donating a portion of the revenue from my performances, including sales of CDs, DVDs and books. By supporting me and my music, audiences will be helping Native American children escape the cycle of poverty, drug and alcohol addiction, and teen suicides that are rampant on the reservations. This support will provide hope and a bright future through a quality education and leadership development. As the saying goes, “Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day. Teach him to fish, and he can eat for a lifetime.” By giving Native American children the education and leadership skills they need to succeed, they help not only themselves but ensure the future of their communities and the rich heritage of their tribal cultures.”
