Winners Announced for 2013 Georgia CIO of the Year Awards

 
Nov. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlanta, Georgia - The Georgia CIO Leadership Association (GCLA) proudly announces the winners of the 15th Annual CIO of the Year® Awards.

Winners were announced at the 15th annual Awards ceremony on Friday, November 1, at the Cobb Galleria Centre with Tim Campos, CIO of Facebook giving the keynote address to 1,100 guests, representing Georgia’s largest organizations and their technology partners.

Established in 1998, the Georgia CIO of the Year Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program of its kind. This annual event honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in managing their organization’s enterprise-wide information systems. CIOs and those in equivalent positions are selected by a distinguished panel of CIO judges, including prior Award winners, based upon their contributions in innovation leadership, business value and community involvement.

The 2013 CIO of the Year Award winners are:

Global – Over 10,000 employees and multinational operations

Karen Renner – VP & CIO, Novelis

Enterprise – Over 1,000 and under 10,000 employees

Carrie Wheeler – CIO, Cbeyond, Inc.

Corporate – Up to 1,000 employees

Robert Bennett, CIO, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta

Non-profit/Public Sector – Government, education, and not-for-profit organizations
 -
Michael Long – CIO, Georgia Department of Revenue

Lifetime Achievement

John Seral, former VP & CIO, GE Energy
