Prince of Scots Proclaims World Peace for Christmas 2013

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. - Nov. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- From the heart of Scotland comes a message of hope in a modern tartan designed by Victor Spence.  Inspired by the Dalai Lama with dash of Alexander McQueen a message of a kind heart comes the World Peace Tartan.  Prince of Scots will be offering scarves and for the holidays to allow gift givers to share the message of peace on earth and goodwill to men.

The World Peace Tartan was created to promote a global message of peace.  The striking light blue in the design is representative of the presence, hope, and potential of the United Nations.  Scotland at the heart of this enterprise is represented through the purple and green of the thistle, the national flower.  The red and black running through the pattern represent the realities of the war and violence with the white conveying peace and light as a counter balance.

The new tartan illustrates humanity’s desire for a peaceful, nonviolent and sustainable future. The Dalai Lama was presented with the first ever World Peace Tartan Scarf in Edinburgh in June 2012.  The New York Fashion runways would be the official launch in April 2013 during From Scotland With Love.  Spence has since presented the scarves to Noble Prize Winners and religious leaders.  Bishop Desmond Tutu is noted recipient of the tartan.

Revenues generated from the sales will fund the World Peace Foundation. The Foundation will invest in educational initiatives that build a culture of peace and nonviolence and address child poverty.  A Gift of the World Peace Tartan is the gift that keeps on giving.
