The trailer depicts the story of a dramatic death, the alleged suicide of Patrick Dowling, the eldest son of an Irish Government Minister found hanging in the woods. The book tell the story of a city, his coroner, his court and one suspicious death. This is very clearly seen in the dramatic trailer with actors playing out the parts of the dead man, the coroner, the criminal underworld and the police on the streets of Dublin and in the woodlands of the Dublin / Wicklow Border. Sinister music, dramatic pauses and fast camera work make this trailer difficult to tear your eyes away.
Tom Hopkins, Owner, One Productions commented; “We were very excited to come up with a visual concept for the trailer for ‘Inquest’ and to work with Paul. In our line of work taking a piece of written work and bringing it to life visually in its production is at the core of what we do and something we love doing. The dark nature of the compelling content appealed to us and we found the perfect location in terms of filming in the woods, on Dublin city centre streets and in Il Caffé di Napoli on Westland Row, locations where we filmed the trailer over three days.”
“The final trailer is everything we hoped it would be and has already been featured on the RTE 10 website along with an interview with the Author. We also did a series of short clip interviews with the Author to explain the specific sections of the story and his interpretations of them in terms of how they relate to real life in his own experience. These clips include the titles The Story, Coroner’s Court, Anonymous Death, Dramatic Inquest, Criminal Inquest, The Chamber of Ghosts, The Room of Sighs and The Revelation.”
