The acoustics and the venue of the Frauenthal are perfect for the Choir, whose angelic voices and beautiful harmonies are transcendent.” Established by imperial decree in 1498, the Vienna Boys Choir has been delighting and inspiring audiences for more than 500 years. The chorus will perform a selection drawn from their repertoire of Austrian folk songs and waltzes, classical masterpieces, beloved pop songs, holiday favorites and medieval chant including: · “O Fortuna” from “Carmina Burana” · “Ave Maria” · Paul Simon’s “The Sound of Silence” · ABBA’s “Thank You for the Music” · Strauss’ “Blue Danube” · Christmas favorites, include “O Tannenbaum,” Today, the Vienna Boys Choir has about 100 members between the ages of 10-14 who are divided into four touring companies. The choirs give approximately 300 concerts and performances annually, performing before nearly half a million people.
