HV Building and Construction Trades Council Endorses Hoovler for Orange County District Attorney

GOSHEN, N.Y. - Oct. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- The Hudson Valley Building and Construction Trades Council recently announced its support of David M. Hoovler’s campaign for Orange County District Attorney in one of the candidate’s most significant endorsements to date.

“We look forward to working with you on issues important to Building Trades Members and all working people in the Hudson Valley,” wrote President L. Todd Diorio.

The Hudson Valley Building and Construction Trades Council represents 28 local unions with over 10,000 members.

“I’m grateful, especially as we’re counting down to Election Day, for the support of the Council, its unions, and those unions’ hard-working members,” said Hoovler. “Many of these hard-working men and women live right here in Orange County, and I look forward to working with and for them.”

The Hudson Valley Building and Construction Trades Council endorsement joins over 40 total endorsements to date; a full list is attached.

Hoovler is a former police detective in Prince George’s County, Md., a former trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice, Criminal Division, and a former assistant district attorney in Bronx and Orange counties. He currently works as a defense attorney at Ostrer & Hoovler, P.C. in Chester, where he is also a partner.

Hoovler’s political platform emphasizes community prosecution, a crime prevention tactic that teams prosecutors with community leaders and residents to identify and prevent potential crime problems. Hoovler will work directly with community members to define problems and develop solutions in cooperation with law enforcement, schools, health organizations, advocacy groups, non-profits, and businesses.

The endorsed candidate of the Orange County Republican, Independence, and Conservative parties, Hoovler will appear on three ballot lines on November 5.
