NEW YORK - Oct. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- This week "Sportfolio" on Bloomberg TV, the only weekly
broadcast show dedicated to Sports Business, will examine how sports organizations (for-profit and non-profit) build value through deals.

Peter Schwartz of Bloomberg News joins host Rick Horrow to discuss
his new research on MLB franchise valuations, which takes team stakes in TV networks and related businesses into account: by his calculations, ten MLB clubs are now valued in excess of $1 Billion. Former New York Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum looks at the NFL trade deadline, and shares insight into why midseason deals are so rare in football compared to other sports. On the eve of the ING New York City Marathon, the husband/wife team of C.C. and Amber Sabathia explain why their "PitCChin Foundation" is fielding a team of charity runners in this year's race; philanthropic consultants Harrie Bakst and Sara Weinstein discuss how Sabathia and other celebrities are stepping up to creatively address the Marathon's fundraising shortfall in the wake of last year's cancellation due to Superstorm Sandy.

All that, as well as an added feature from Bloomberg TV "C-Suite" on the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer and their business success, on this week’s show.

"Sportfolio" airs Thursday night at 9:30 PM and 12:30 AM ET Friday on Bloomberg TV (DirecTV353, check your local cable systems for the channel near you). The show reaches more than 270 million households through first-run and syndicated airings.
