Research shows that employees would prefer flexible working to a salary increase

BRAY, Ireland - Oct. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Research launched today by Softworks, reveals that the majority of employees would prefer flexible working options to a 5% salary increase. The global research commissioned by Softworks and conducted by HR.com, the largest global social network and online community of HR executives, surveyed executives from around the globe and found that well over half (66.5%) of employees say that they would prefer flexible working to a salary increase.

"The so called 9 to 5 or eight hour working day originated out of necessity during the Industrial Revolution in Britain in the 1800s.  So much has changed since then in terms of how, when and where we do business, it makes you wonder why so many organisations are holding onto a working day that was created over 200 years ago." said Andrew Ferguson, CEO, Softworks.
