Children’s Author Participates in Las Vegas Halloween Event

LAS VEGAS - Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS – Author Kent R. Buckner will interact with thousands of parents and their little goblins as they descend at sunset upon one of the most popular shopping destinations in Las Vegas for CBS Radio and Town Square’s “Town Scary.” The safe Halloween trick-or-treat event for 98.5 KLUC station listeners and their children runs on Halloween from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

As families and shoppers trick-or-treat their way through Town Square, there will be candy distribution, gifts, prizes, vendor booths, and entertainment.

Among the performers is Buckner, the author of The Great Safari Adventure, published by Strategic Book Group. He will perform a song and dance titled “Just Do It” to encourage children to get out, exercise, and live their dreams. He will also host a thriller dance competition for little kids to win prizes.

Town Square is located at 6605 S. Las Vegas Blvd., near the I-15 and I-215 interchange.

In his book The Great Safari Adventure, 10-year-old Coleman gets separated from his family in the jungle. The little boy is afraid, but soon makes new friends as he gains confidence and courage. The author hopes his story will motivate kids to be active, and learn the world around them through exploration and physical activity.

Buckner lives in Hollywood, California, where he is a fitness trainer and a coach. He thanks his son, Coleman, for his inspiration to write the book.
