Everblue Establishes Partnership with Madisonville Community College (MCC)

Everblue students can now earn academic credit toward an associate’s degree

Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Everblue, an award-winning sustainability training provider, has established an agreement with Madisonville Community College (MCC) to offer sustainability classes to students for academic credit. This agreement allows students who complete an Everblue training course to receive academic credit toward an Associate of Applied Science degree in Energy Management offered at MCC.

MCC offers associate degrees, diplomas and certificates in a variety of academic programs, as well as transfer degrees for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. The addition of these Everblue courses will aid MCC in its mission to provide versatile, high quality distance learning education.

“I had the idea that one way we could offer our students a more flexible alternative to some of our courses was to partner with Everblue,” said Jake Hildebrant, energy management program coordinator at MCC. “If a student receives a national certification that we offer in our program, through Everblue training, we will give that student college credit for completing the certification.”

Students can choose from a wide range of Everblue’s classes, which include Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation, Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification, Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) training, Certified Sustainability Manager (CSM) training, North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) certification, and Commercial Building Energy Auditor (CBEA) training.

“I think that this partnership is a ‘win-win’ for both Everblue and Madisonville Community College,” said Hildebrant. Through this partnership, MCC students will have more flexibility accessing courses and Everblue students can now receive college credit that is part of a regionally accredited and transferable degree.
