SHANGHAI - Oct. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- On October 15 several hundred delegates from China and around the world attended the "Private Hospital World China" conference at the Convention Center of Hilton Hotel Pudong Shanghai. The conference was organized to bring together senior level executives and health care entrepreneurs who are active in China's explosive health care sector.

Speakers and Panelists included:

-Roberta Lipson, CEO Chindex International and Chairman of United Family Hospitals

-Ms. Tan Bee Lan, Head of Hospital Operations for Parkway Health in China

-Mr. Derek H Muhs, Vice Chairman and Co-founder of HCMC Health Care Management China

-Mr. Christian Orejudos, Chief Operating Officer & Vice President of Shanghai Redleaf Women's Hospital

The speakers and panelists spoke on a variety of key themes including challenges and opportunities in operating efficient private health care centers as well as determining new revenue streams, opportunities for consolidation and the development of the health care market in China.

"With the announcement by the Health Ministry of China to increase the number of private hospital beds from 8% in 2012 to 20% by 2015 there is tremendous growth potential in this sector," commented Derek Muhs, Vice Chairman of HCMC.

The Retirement Living China Conference was held simultaneously and delegates listened to a cross section of presentations that focused on opportunities in the development of elderly care homes and retirement communities in China. China has the largest elderly population in the world and will continue to drive significant growth in the elderly care sector and the need for quality health care facilities in main land China
