PsyProblems.net - a new round of psychotherapy

Oct. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Last week a crowdfunding platform Indiegogo campaign was launched to raise funds for the Ukrainian startup PsyProblems.net. Start-up is aimed at an international audience. It involves the creation of online psychological video consultations. Any certified psychologist or therapist can get registered as a consultant, use of this services  is open for any Internet user who has a bank card. The technological solution of personal offices will be carried out on the basis of WebRTC, technology, which has been standardized only in 2013.

Development of the service has begun in August, the final version will be ready by December. Another month will be spent on the closed beta testing, participation in which will be open for the subscribers of the project. After testing the product will be available for all the Internet audience.

The need for such a service has emerged quite a long time ago, according to the founders of the project. So, as most therapists are concentrated in large cities, citizens of remote provinces can not receive mental health services of high quality. And according to the WHO, the treatment needs each and every 10th on the planet, because 650 million people suffer from one or other psychological issue (including depression, stress and neurosis).

At the same time, psychotherapists themselves need to get a professional tool for operating on the Internet. Now experts have already started to explore the world wide web: online consultations are offeredd on Skype or in writing. However, the problem of skype counseling is not only in recording of all the talk on this service, but also in violation of the ethical principles of psychotherapists. Thus, according to the international standards, communication between a psychologist and his client should be as impersonal as possible, not tied to any feature that may be associated with a client`s friendly gatherings. "For example, we are unable to advise in parks or cafes - it violates the setting, rules. And on the Internet - theoretically, we can not use the same tool, with which the client explores for communications with friends,"- said advisor to PsyProblems.net team, a psychologist with over a decade of experience Alevtina Shevchenko.

The project plans to gather on Indiegogo $ 50 thousand. These funds are intended for incorporation, the end of the development of the service, and the first six months of its operation. Within six months PsyProblems.net plans to reach breakeven point through a 5% commission on each consultation. Until now, the project has not attracted venture capital and is wholly owned by individual founders.
