Alabama NAACP unites with Progressives and GBM against Gov Bentley's healthcare actions

The NAACP unites with Progressives and Religious Leaders against Gov Bentley's refusal to take federal Medicaid funds.

"Governor Bentley is the new Governor George Wallace of our time," says Reverend Anthony "Alann" Johnson, of the NAACP.

Reverend Anthony Alann Johnson, MDiv, a native of Birmingham, Alabama at 40 years of age, is a graduate of Talladega College, Morehouse School of Religion and Emory University.  He is the President of Titusville Community, Vice-Chairman Downtown Redevelopment District-2 Representative Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee, and is the Special Projects Manager for the Birmingham-Metro Chapter NAACP. Reverend Anthony “Alann” Johnson is an advocate of economic and social justice. He is a leader in the political, civic and religious arenas who places strong emphasis on education and has 20 years of proven leadership.

Monday, Reverend Johnson, Scott Douglas of the Greater Birmingham Ministries, and the Progressive Democrats of America, will hold a joint press conference to kick-off a massive campaign against Governor Bentley's refusal to accept federal Medicaid funds.  The Governor's intransigence is harming Alabama businesses, costing thousands of jobs, and, more importantly adversely affecting the health of Alabama's citizens."

This is the initial step in what will be a state wide campaign to educate the great citizens of Alabama and it's business community on the harm Bentley is causing the state.
