FREMONT, Calif. - Oct. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- To help fund it, Kaiser Permanente gave LEAF a $15,000 grant to help them launch it.  It has been a fun project to work on - we’ve been able to implement 5 garden beds with vegetable seeds from Mexico, Filipino, Afghan, Indian and Chinese. We’ve selected unusual seeds for a fall/winter garden.  What we’ve learned is that there are some many similarities of the kinds of vegetables they all are producing and what each ethic group eats.

We’ve also been hosting cooking demo’s to teach us how we can take vegetables and cook them a different way. With this idea we can eat healthier and explore Fremonts’ ethnic diversity.

You are welcome to join our events:

Cooking Demo's, the nextt one is on Wednesday, November 6 - Mexican

Saturday, November 2 - 11:00 am to 1:00pm
We hope you can join us for the Documentary Viewing of “To win we have to lose.”  at Fremont’s Public Library. 2400 Stevenson Blvd. We'll have a discussion to see how as a community we can change obesity.

Then on Sunday, November 10, 2013 Come join us for for the next Community Dinner, it's potluck, bring your favorite vegetables or salad. register at:  https://www.eventbrite.com/event/3505471961
