Seilevel is “Pulling for Pink” to support The Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - Oct. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Austin, Texas, October 25, 2013 – Seilevel, a business analysis consulting firm headquartered in Austin Texas, has teamed up with The Austin Rowing Club to sponsor the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin for the inaugural, Pulling for Pink awareness and fundraising event during their 29th annual Head of the Colorado Regatta (The PumpkinHead) this Saturday, October 26, 2013 on Lady Bird Lake.

The Austin Rowing Club's PumpkinHead is a 3-mile race for sculling and sweep boats as well as kayak and paddleboard entries. Ages will range from high-school through senior citizen with fitness and athleticism being tested throughout the day in each event. Spectators are welcome to watch the races from the safety of the pedestrian locations of four bridges over Lady Bird Lake – Lamar, Pedestrian Bridge, Ann Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, and IH35 as well as tour the boats and the general expo area at Festival Beach, just east of IH35 between Comal and Chicon on the shores of Lady Bird Lake.

As a first-of-its-kind event, Pulling for Pink races have been sponsored by local businesses and private individuals to raise funds which will be donated in full by the Austin Rowing Club to the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin. Race sponsors include Hanger, Inc., Accelerated Care Plus, The Tony Hamilton Family, HireSolutions, Dave MacDonald, Pelorus Technology, Seilevel, Texas Rowing Center and WaxmanCavnerLawson. The goal of the event is to raise awareness as well as much needed funds which will benefit the BCRC and provide concrete services to members of our community diagnosed with breast cancer. The money raised will make a difference here – for women you might know.

Festivities for the event will include costume contests for the rowers, a floating VIP garden underwritten by Hanger, Inc. and supported by Capital Cruises, Guns & Oil Brewery, and Lupe Tortilla Restaurant. Entry is for those 21 years and older with paid admission. T-shirts and other “Pulling for Pink” items will also be available with all profits allocated to the BCRC of Austin.

To end the event, Alta’s Café will be hosting an after party at the Waller Creek Boathouse at 74 Trinity Street from 6:30 pm to 8:30 with a range of beer and samples of Stiles Switch Bar-Be-Que. Profits will be donated to the cause.
