About 1000 Cranes and 1000 Cranes Week

1000 Cranes (http://www.1000cranes.com) provides sustainable strategic planning services merging financial and social aspects to grow social entrepreneurship in organizations.  1000 Cranes assists nonprofits in becoming more financially stable so they can continue their missions.  1000 Cranes also works with corporations to integrate social impact in their business practices and grow engagement with the local communities.

1000 Cranes Week celebrates the life of a young girl, Sadako Sasaki, who died on October 25, 1955.  She attempted to fold 1000 origami cranes in hopes for a cure for leukemia she contracted from the effects of radiation after the bombing of Hiroshima.  Her death galvanized the community and started a peace movement that continues today. People around the world fold 1000 origami cranes as a sign of world peace.  1000 Cranes Week celebrates the contributions of nonprofits in our local communities and reminds us of the hope our communities bring to us.
