SURREY, U.K. - Oct. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- The Jungfrau Region encompasses some imposing and impressive mountains, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Peak preview
Webcams have long been a source of excitement before a ski holiday with daily checking of conditions via these cameras part of a routine for many holidaymakers from December before heading out to the slopes. This year sees the installation of three new HD cameras in the Jungfrau Region to view the weather and snow conditions in all their glory. The new cameras are situated in Kleine Scheidegg-Lauberhorn, Grindelwald-First and Männlichen. Visit www.jungfrau.ch/webcams to see the latest weather and conditions.

Social skiing online
That end of the day conversation in the chalet about who went where, who went fastest and who did the hardest run is about to get a whole lot more competitive in Jungfrau this winter. The Jungfrau Winnercard has been updated for 2013/14 to bring the skipass from the jacket pocket to the Jungfrau website, allowing skiiers to create a personal diary charting experiences and videos to share with as few or as many as you would like. The website also offers regular competitions alongside the chance to earn badges for accomplishments on the slopes such as distance skied or metres descended. Another great new feature is the Jungfrau Winnercard ski movies; simply touch your ski pass on the sensors in the Kleine-Scheidegg Männlichen or Mürren-Schilthorn ski areas and the journey down is tracked by cameras before being uploaded to your Jungfrau Winnercard online profile.

Action-packed events calendar
As usual in the Jungfrau Region, there will be a number of events through the season certainly worth showing up for. Alpine ski races are, of course, at the centre of things in Wengen and this year is the 84th World Cup Race on the Lauberhorn, one of the classics (17th to 19th January). The following week it is time for Grindelwald to take centre stage with the 32nd World Snow Festival, a celebration of ice art on the natural ice rink (20th to 25th January). High octane freeskiing arrives later in the season with the Whitestyle Open (7th to 9th March) which will see top skiers compete for CHF 10,000 (approx.. £7,000), plus skiers in the resort on holiday can trial the latest skis.
