By: Mississauga Halton CCAC “We know there are many caregiving heroes in our community. While they typically don’t consider themselves heroes, caregivers make a significant and meaningful difference in the lives of people of all ages,” said Caroline Brereton, CEO, Mississauga Halton CCAC. “The Heroes in the Home Caregiver Recognition Awards are a wonderful way to say thank you to caregivers for their compassionate caring that helps people remain in their home longer, helps children thrive at home and in school, and helps people return home sooner to recover from surgery or illness. I’m constantly inspired by the efforts of these amazing individuals.” Mississauga Halton CCAC invites residents of South Etobicoke, Mississauga, Oakville, Halton Hills and Milton to submit nominations for the 2013 Heroes in the Home Caregiver Recognition Awards. Whether your hero is a family member, friend, neighbour, volunteer or health care professional, all are eligible. Since 2010, the Mississauga Halton CCAC has honoured 285 heroes. This year, the Mississauga Halton CCAC is hosting three events to honour caregivers in the region: Mississauga on Thursday, November 28, Oakville on Tuesday, December 3 and Milton on Thursday, December 5. It’s easy to nominate someone special; to submit a nomination, please visit http://heroesinthehomemh.com. The deadline for nominations is Friday, November 8, 2013.
