PARK ROYAL, U.K. - Oct. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- When the King of the Pride Lands needed to transport his personal effects (http://www.anglopacific.co.uk/shipping_personal_effects.htm) from Birmingham to Johannesburg – he called on Anglo Pacific.  Currently starring as Simba in the UK and Ireland tour of The Lion King musical, Nicholas Nkuna has nothing but praise for the international removals specialist (http://www.anglopacific.co.uk/).

“I’ve been touring with Disney’s The Lion King for almost a year and a half and it’s amazing how much stuff you can accumulate (http://www.anglopacific.co.uk/baggage_shipping.htm),” says Nicholas.  “When I recently travelled home to South Africa for a much appreciated holiday, I took the opportunity to send back some of the bags of clothes I have been lugging around on tour with me.  Thumbs up for Anglo Pacific (http://www.anglopacific.co.uk/).  They offered great service, kept in constant contact and were professional throughout.”

Based on the box-office-smashing 1994 film of the same name, Director Julie Taymor’s The Lion King production transports the savannah of Africa to the stage.  The current ten-city Tour encompassing Manchester and Dublin, Birmingham and Edinburgh, features a 52-strong cast from 18 different countries alongside a mammoth 232 puppets.  Nicholas has played (adult) Simba since the start.

After three audition attempts for what is now one of the longest-running shows on Broadway and in London’s West End – Nicholas finally landed The Lion King lead.  It was his UK debut, having just hung up his mask from making history as the second actor of colour to ever play and cover the title role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera back in South Africa.  "I'm sure every musical theatre actor wants to step into this role.  It's really wonderful," said Nicholas.  "The show has been incredibly written.  The costumes; Julie Taymor; the puppetry; the music – it's amazing.  When I first saw the show, I shed a tear.  The Lion King has all those aspects of you just being enthralled in every moment.  It's one of the greatest creations in musical theatre."

Audiences across the world clearly agree with Nicholas – not least in the United States.  In fact, despite being a relative newcomer debuting only in 1997, The Lion King broke a billion dollar record this month for a Broadway musical, in doing so beating the 952 million dollar worldwide gross of the original films.  Across the continents, The Lion King has already beaten the five billion pound mark – and rising.

Jason Diggs, Anglo Pacific (http://www.anglopacific.co.uk/)’s Sales Director, says, “By the very nature of our business, moving people’s prize possessions (http://www.anglopacific.co.uk/shipping_personal_effects.htm) all over the world, we encounter a great variety of individuals with fascinating tales to tell.  From love stories 70 years in the making to rock stars bidding farewell to LA, there’s never a dull day.  We’re thrilled that Nicholas Nkuna opted to use Anglo Pacific (http://www.anglopacific.co.uk/)’s services and wish him all the best as The Lion King tour continues, as well as with writing and recording his new album which will be out soon – although he’s quick to tell us that theatre will always be his first love.”
