Central Penn College now offers bachelor's degrees for BTI graduates

Partnership opens doors for BTI network/internet professional graduates to continue their education

SUMMERDALE, Pa. - Oct. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Berks Technical Institute (BTI) graduates who have completed, or are completing, an associate in specialized technology degree in network/internet professional (http://www.berks.edu/programs/networkinternet-professional) now have the opportunity to complete a related Central Penn College bachelor’s degree program, all from the BTI campus in Wyomissing, Pa., and the comfort of their homes.

"The partnership that Central Penn College and Berks Technical Institute have forged enables BTI graduates to continue the career-focused education they desire at an institution with a similar mission and philosophy as their alma mater,” says Central Penn College President Dr. Karen Scolforo. “Central Penn’s dedicated faculty and staff will provide these students with the same personalized attention, academic rigor and convenient scheduling that they experienced at BTI.”

Central Penn’s new degree completion program at BTI is now accepting students for the upcoming winter term, scheduled to begin January 6, 2014. To enroll in Central Penn’s bachelor’s degree completion program, BTI students must have earned an associate in specialized technology degree in network/internet professional. Through a block transfer agreement, BTI network/internet professional graduates can automatically transfer 60 credits toward their Central Penn College information technology bachelor’s degree with a concentration in networking and security.

Students enrolling for the winter 2014 term will enroll in a cohort, which means the same group of students will advance through the program together. Students who stay consistently enrolled can complete their bachelor’s degree in ten accelerated 11-week terms, taking one fully-online course per term and one blended course per term at the BTI campus. Admissions counselors from Central Penn will be at BTI Nov. 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. to answer questions about the program and to enroll students.

“We are excited about this new partnership with Central Penn as it shows the caliber of the education that BTI provides its students,” says Joe Reichard, senior campus director, BTI. “Now our successful students will have additional opportunity, which is a win-win for everyone involved.”

Central Penn College offers career-focused degree programs from its Summerdale campus and its bachelor’s degree completion centers in Lancaster and the Lehigh Valley. Regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Central Penn prepares its graduates to obtain employment or advancement in their chosen field, continue their education and be contributing members of society. According to Central Penn’s most recent one-year graduate survey, 87.8 percent of graduates were employed in their chosen field or continuing their education within one year of graduation.
