Everblue Becomes a RESNET Rating Provider

Oct. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Everblue, an award-winning sustainability education provider, has added RESNET quality assurance to its list of services. Everblue has been providing RESNET HERS Rater training since 2011.

RESNET stands for Residential Energy Services Network and is a leading energy auditing standard. Everblue’s RESNET HERS Rater training course provides individuals with the building science knowledge and live field training experience to prepare for the RESNET HERS exam. Everblue instructors administer this exam at the conclusion of the course and help students acquire two field inspections on a home.

In order to become a certified RESNET HERS Rater, individuals must acquire three additional field inspections after their training course. With the addition of the RESNET Rating Provider service, Everblue can now also supervise and review these three inspections, or ratings.

“By adding the RESNET Rating Provider service to our offerings, Everblue becomes a convenient one-stop-shop for our students,” said Ryan Bennett, Everblue’s BPI/RESNET program manager. “We are particularly focused on customer intimacy and world-class experience here at Everblue, so it’s important to us that we’re able to guide and assist our students at every stage of the certification process.”

Certified HERS Raters must contact a Rating Provider for quality assurance needs. A Rater’s work in the area of residential energy efficiency directly relates to the health, safety and comfort of homeowners. The Rating Provider’s role is to review the Rater’s home inspections for accuracy. Raters must send all of their home inspections to a Rating Provider for this quality assurance.

Everblue’s former RESNET students will have the opportunity to upgrade to the RESNET Rating Provider service and will get their first five home ratings for free if they join by Dec. 31, 2013.

In addition to providing quality assurance on home ratings, Everblue’s RESNET Rating Provider service will also include several supporting materials and experiences. The annual membership includes a license to REM/Rate energy modeling software, access to quarterly webinars on industry topics, and information on continuing education.

“Our goal with this RESNET quality assurance program is to provide the most comprehensive level of support for our students,” said Bennett. “Our students oftentimes go on to start their own energy auditing businesses, and we want to be their go-to resource for real-world, on-the-job issues. Everblue is a leader in this industry, and we take that responsibility very seriously.”
