Follow on Google News | Padgett Stratemann kicks off Fall 2013 Computer Donation ProgramFirm launches campaign to donate laptops to charitable Texas non-profits
By: Padgett Stratemann & Co. Since launching the program in the fall of 2010, Padgett Stratemann has given 148 laptops to more than 80 Texas-based non-profits. These computers enable the organizations to modernize their information technology capabilities, a need that is often unmet due to budget constraints. Helping organizations that devote their time to helping others has always been a mission of PS&Co., and donating gently used computers to those who need them most is part of that focus. “We hope every charitable non-profit organization in the Austin and San Antonio region will view our computer donation program as an opportunity to upgrade their IT infrastructure and, in turn, provide enhanced service to their community,” said John Wright, Managing Partner of Padgett Stratemann. “When we support a neighbor in need, we’re helping build a stronger community.” Starting October 7, Padgett Stratemann will accept submissions from non-profits that can put up to three laptops to good use in their efforts to aid their community. Organizations desiring to participate in the program must have 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service and must have been operating for a minimum of five years. First-time applicants and repeat submissions are welcomed. Applicants who have submitted previously without receiving a computer from the program are encouraged to re-apply. Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas, for example, applied twice before being awarded computers on the third try last spring. And the Heidi Search Center secured computers on its second attempt. “So many excellent groups apply that we unfortunately cannot meet every worthy organization’ Organizations that have received computers have included the San Antonio Opera, JOVEN, Inc., Christian Senior Services, Green Spaces Alliance, IDEA Public Schools, the Austin Humane Society, Greenlights for Nonprofit Success, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area, Austin Sunshine Camps and Manos de Cristos, to name only a few. A full explanation of the program, including the application form, is now available online (http://www.padgett- Padgett Stratemann will notify organizations selected to receive computers during the week of December 9.
