New KWCUSA National Champions Kim Evans and Carter Thomas

MASON, Ohio - Oct. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Karaoke World Championships USA crowned new national champions Kim Evans and Carter Thomas at Black Oak Casino on October 5. Fifty singers from across the country competed over the 3 days. Kim and Carter will compete at the Karaoke World Championships in Finland November 21-24.

Carter Thomas came from Arkansas as the competitors from Arkansas came back from the 2012 national championships stronger than ever. Carter has been singing since age 7. He loves to sing, the outdoors and traveling. Carter owns a construction company, has two handsome sons and has lived in Arkansas since 1991.

Kim Evans is from California and loves to sing and perform. Kim has been singing at karaoke clubs for 17 years. She has been in a couple national competitions this year and would like to continue competing.  Kim says, “The people I have met in these competitions are great.  I am still in touch with them from all over the country.” Kim has 4 kids ranging in age from 24 to 10 with only 2 left at home. Her oldest daughter is also a karaoke singer and they sometimes will do competitions together. Kim also says, “It has been a blast. Music is a big deal in our home and we love all kinds of music.”

Wendell Payne, President of KWCUSA says, “The competition was more competitive than ever and so many talented singers, it hurts to choose just 1 male and 1 female. Some day we will have the funds to do more for more singers. Kim and Carter will do America proud in the world championships and help us bring home the gold.”

2014 will be announcing the national championship dates and venues in the coming days along with some very exciting changes and a new website.
