LONDON - Oct. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Next week, over 500 global stakeholders in the payment card industry (PCI) will attend the annual PCI Security Standards Council (SSC) European Community Meeting. Ground Labs (http://www.groundlabs.com/), the leaders in cardholder data discovery software for PCI compliance, is supporting this year’s event in Nice, France and will participate in the Vendor Showcase.

The PCI SSC Community Meetings provide an opportunity for SSC members to learn from each other’s experiences implementing the PCI Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) and in particular, provide feedback on the latest draft standard PCI DSS v3.0. Participants also have opportunities to make suggestions for improvements to the Standard and learn about best practices for protecting cardholder data as they interact with other industry stakeholders.

With offices located across 3 continents, Ground Labs is one of the international sponsors of the upcoming Community Meeting. The company’s flagship products, Card Recon and Enterprise Recon, identify data storage risks on thousands of computer systems worldwide, helping companies prevent security breaches that result in the theft of customers’ credit and debit card numbers.

“With the release of v3.0 of the PCI DSS, industry stakeholders once again come together to support the PCI council’s efforts in publishing and maintaining a common set of security standards for all to follow.” said Mohamed Zouine, EMEA Director of Corporate Development for Ground Labs. “As cardholder data compromises continue to make news headlines, it is crucial that we as an industry combine our collective efforts toward the goal of keeping cardholder data safe”.

Card Recon and Enterprise Recon assist organisations perform cardholder data discovery across all types of storage including images, audio, emails, databases, documents and many other locations. This process forms a critical step toward achieving compliance with the PCI DSS and is a common topic of discussion amongst merchants and their Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs).

The Vendor Showcase will present an opportunity for participants to interact with a broad variety of vendors servicing the payment card industry and learn about their important work in the field of cardholder data security. As a participant in the Vendor Showcase, Ground Labs will provide live demonstrations of its Card Recon software for QSAs and of its Enterprise Recon software for large merchant organisations.

The 2013 European Community Meeting will be held October 29-31 at the Nice Acropolis in Nice, France. A similar Community Meeting will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 20th November 2013 where Ground Labs is also a sponsor.
