DC Improv Sampler - http://tinyurl.com/lkxopzc

Ed Blaze’s life began modestly.  Born and raised by his grandparents in the central East African country of Tanzania, they lived in a small village lacking the most basic of Western amenities like electricity and running water.  Despite the hardships, Ed found an uncanny ability to spread laughter throughout the boarding school he attended as a youngster.

In 1998, Ed immigrated to the United States to pursue higher education and big dreams. Residing first in California, he relocated to the East coast - Newark, New Jersey – and finally landing in the hustle and bustle of Washington, D.C.  The shock between his new fast-paced environment compared to his native country and his transition from Swahili to English provided material for his emerging comedy act.

Applying his unique viewpoint to an array of topics, from politics and current events to human sexuality and marriage, from pop culture to race. Ed draws his inspiration from comedic greats like Richard Pryor, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Carlos Mencia, and George Carlin.

Along the way, he studied Business Management and computer networking, establishing himself as an entrepreneur in promotions and video/film direction.  Despite these endeavors, Ed’s first passion remained comedy.  He has appeared in clubs and college campuses like the Gotham Comedy Club in New York City or D.C.’s Howard University
