New KC Business Launches Online Tool to Help Nonprofit Organizations

App promises to maximize the volunteer experience by matching people to local volunteer opportunities based on skills, interests, and availability

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oct. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Leawood, KS — October 21, 2013 VolunteerMark will host a Charity Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, November 2nd from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at Hope Faith Ministries (705 Virginia Ave, Kansas City, MO 64106).  The event will celebrate the launch of VolunteerMark’s volunteer management software and bring together nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and charity-supporting businesses.

Community Partnership
“VolunteerMark is not only saving nonprofits time and money, we’re dedicated to creating a sense of camaraderie in the nonprofit community,” said Katie Martino, Communications Specialist at VolunteerMark.  “We want to have this event to celebrate our product launch, as well as to celebrate the local nonprofits and volunteers.”

The Charity Chili Cook-Off is a free event, while the suggested donation is $5 or a toiletry item. All donations will be given to Hope Faith Ministries.  Teams of a few people from charity-supporting businesses in the Kansas City area have joined forces to create the best chili.  The winning team will receive a special prize.

Open to the public.  Individuals and families are encouraged to stop by to eat chili, listen to live music, and learn how to get involved with local volunteer opportunities.  All food will be donated to the homeless shelter.   The Kansas City band, 3 Orange Whips, will be playing reggae, rock, and funk cover songs.  To RSVP and reserve your bowl please email rsvp@volunteermark.com.

Positive Customer Impact

VolunteerMark may have just launched, but the product is already helping nonprofit organizations. The HALO Foundation and Connecting For Good are two of the early adopters in Kansas City to begin using the software to manage their events, create volunteer shifts, and track volunteer hours.

“VolunteerMark is allowing us to better connect with our volunteers and aiding to create a positive volunteer experience,” said Nicole Gerken, Director of Operations at The HALO Foundation. “In addition, this tool helps to efficiently manage a volunteer’s time and provide a tracking system benefiting both the volunteer and the organization.”
