At the start of the 2013 season it was immediately obvious that the car was overweight so Huw enlisted the help of the Weight Distribution Calculator. Using this free calculator he could determine where to remove weight from the car without affecting it's balance as well as predicting the agility of the car using the moments of inertia read out.
With better weight distribution Huw was able to clinch a few class B wins but the extra speed in the car also highlighted an understeer issue which was allowing Huw's main rival to edge away. After some careful analysis of the existing set-up using the Suspension Geometry Calculator Huw realised that the car was suffering from suspension jacking. More analysis using the Suspension Geometry Calculator highlighted that one simple change – repositioning the lower control arm mounts – would greatly reduce the problem.
For the remainder of the season Huw was considerably faster on track and regularly battling for position with his main rival. Huw achieved another 3 class B wins which wouldn't have been possible without the greatly improved handling mid season.
