Excerpt from Craig Hill’s Blog “Agreement is Power” published on August 13, 2013, based on Chapter 6 of his book “Two Fleas and No Dog”.

Matthew 18:19 says, “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father Who is in heaven.”

We have all read that scripture and most of us have probably applied it in some way or another. Yet, we often fail to implement this promise in what is potentially the most powerful relationship on earth, our marriage.

In fact, one of the primary objectives of the enemy is to keep a husband and a wife from coming into agreement at all costs. He knows that when you are in agreement with your spouse at the heart level, you have released God to act.

Think about it, God has promised to do anything you agree upon. But it is important to remember that He will not violate His Word in the process. For example, if you agree with your spouse that all of your needs are met and then refuse to work, God’s hands are tied. II Thessalonians 3:10 says, “…If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.”

However, if you are in agreement with each other and His Word, then watch God as He is released to work miracles in your life.

If your marriage is one in which agreement seems to be unattainable, don’t give up. God can restore that, too. To help, in chapter 6 of the book, Two Fleas and No Dog, the author write a about miscommunication and the schemes of the devil: and the lack of agreement is one of those schemes.

Remember, you’re not fighting flesh and blood (your spouse) you’re fighting an unseen enemy who wants to destroy your marriage.
